Everyone loves a good drag race. Watching your favorite machines line up, smoke the tires, await the tree and hook has been an automotive pass-time for decades. Luckily, the sport hasn’t gone anywhere, with plenty of high-power vehicles taking the strip to make a few passes and chase tens.
But what happens when you line up two grunting, burbling, V8 powered vehicles against an electric RC car? Wonder no longer, because someone has answered the question for us. It turns out it does quite well.
The RC cars aren’t any run-of-the-mill drug store toy, though. The video describes the RC cars used as brushless models, running Lipo batteries. Sounds fast.
The RC car approaches the line alongside a slew of GM performance vehicles including fifth-generation Camaros, Cadillac CTS-Vs, Corvettes and Pontiac G8s. As much as we were prepared to see the petrol-powered vehicles leave the electric RC car behind, the RC car looks more like a cheetah running launch control as it shoots off alongside the cars.
If you have two minutes to spare, it’s worth a watch. Check it out down below, and place your bets.
