America isn’t the only place to be considered the land of go-on-green. The Aussies have it down pretty well, and have produced more than enough firepower over the decades to make the biggest American muscle car fan become weary in the knees. The 1974 Holden Monaro is no exception to that, and here it’s an utter beast.
Appropriately named “Air Force One,” this isn’t a stock engine we’re dealing with. Power is coming from a 417 cubic-inch LSX V8 engine. It’s also employing forced induction to enjoy those crazy quick numbers on the drag strip, with a colossal Garrett GTX55 turbocharger partnering up with the engine to put down absolute gobs of power. The build features a list of other specifications including a custom tune by a fella named Jason at Tunnel Vision Tuning in Australia.
We don’t know Jason, but we’d like to buy him a drink.
As we can see, it’s a proven recipe, with the Holden snapping the quarter-mile in under nine seconds consecutively, creeping towards the sevens with each following pass. Mighty impressive.
We get a brief shot of the engine bay too, and it’s cleaner than an OCD housekeeper, though, we spy a Chevrolet bowtie stamped on there somewhere. See if you’re keen enough to pick up on it upon viewing the video. Overall, bravo again by some excellent Aussie talent. And Jason, if you’re ever stateside, let us know because we think we’d get along quite well.
