This Chevrolet C10R Race Truck Is All Kinds Of Awesome: Video

When we hear the words “auto racing” nearly everyone one of us thinks of a car. And that’s for good reason because, well, about 99 percent of the vehicles that compete in race events are cars.

And that’s one of the major reasons why Brandy and Bob Phillips decided to transform a late 60’s Chevrolet C10 into a race-ready monster.

Brandy used to race a 1970 Chevrolet Camaro but she decided to quit in order to have a family. However, she could never shake the itch to race and so she and her husband decided they should re-enter Pro-Touring with a bang.

The result? The mind-boggling Chevrolet C10R, complete with a wind-tunnel-tested carbon-fibre spoiler, race seats, a front splitter, and massive deep-dish 8″x12″ wheels wrapped in equally massive 335-section tires, amongst a load of other mods. We actually saw this beast compete during November’s Optima Batteries Ultimate Street Car Invitational last year, and it did quite well.

Under the gunmetal grey wrap lies a tweaked LS1 that cranks out a mighty 570hp & 580lb-ft of torque and hooks up to the tires through a T56 six-speed lifted from a Dodge Viper.

While we don’t know exactly how fast it is, you can guarantee that Bob and Brenda make a splash both on and off the track.

So, crank up your speakers and grab a bib–you’re bound to drool.

A far-too-tall Ontarian who likes to focus on the business end of the auto industry, in part because he's too tall to safely swap cogs in a Corvette Stingray.
