Pardon, Sir; Would This Happen To Be Your Chevy?

(UPDATE: A previous version of this article incorrectly referred to the car as a 1969 Chevrolet Impala SS.)

Tragically, the beautiful (albeit supremely injured) 1968 Chevrolet Impala pictured above is soon to be headed to the scrapper, assuming the London Police don’t manage to find its rightful owner before March 20th.

According to the UK’s Telegraph, the car was found crashed and abandoned earlier this year in February, alongside the road in the Sutton borough of London, England. Local law enforcement believes that the car may have been deserted by thieving joyriders. This 1968 Chevrolet Impala is a rarity in the UK, and wears an Idaho registration plate.

Unfortunately, every attempt thus far to find the car’s owner has proven fruitless. The Sutton Metropolitan Police have tweeted photos of the car in an attempt to reach the owner, so far to no avail. If the owner doesn’t step forward before March 20th, it will be recycled.

Said Police Constable Jamie Stone: “Unless we find the owner, this classic American muscle car faces being turned into soup cans, which breaks my heart a little. This is the only opportunity we have to try and re-unite it with its owner before it gets destroyed.”

Even more destroyed, that is.
