National Corvette Museum Delivers 10,000th Corvette To Deserving Raffle Winner: Video

Dave Effler got one of the greatest phone calls someone could receive. He was at a business lunch when a number rang, unbeknownst to him, he allowed the call to reach his voicemail. On his commute back home, he took the message, which he thought has in reference to business.

He was in fact wrong. Very wrong.

It was instead the National Corvette Museum dropping a line to let him know he had won a November raffle to win the 10,000th Corvette the museum would deliver. After the news set in for Effler, he and his wife were headed to Bowling Green to receive delivery of the Corvette. A nameplate that’s been Effler’s dream car since high school.

The raffle awarded one lucky winner a build-your-own Corvette, with a 1 in 1,000 chance of winning. The raffle marked the special occasion of 10,000 Corvettes delivered through the museum program, which began in 1995. As part of the delivery, owners receive a tour of the Bowling Green assembly plant, commemorative door sill, announcing the car was delivered via the museum, and a wall plaque among other goodies.

As far as Effler’s Corvette goes, he opted for Z51 performance package in Shark Gray Metallic.

Great choice if we may say so, and we wish Effler many smiles per mile in his long-awaited dream car.
