Custom 1986 C4 Corvette Convertible Is Wrong In So Many Ways: eBay Find

The styling of the C4 Corvette, while clean and understated, is pretty 1980s. It has the typical wedge shape of so many sports cars from the era, and the two-spoke steering wheel and electronic digital speedometer and rev counter don’t help its case for appearing modern.

That said, a stock C4 Corvette isn’t an ugly car, and it’s obvious step forward over the C3 generation model is something to be commended. This eBay seller has managed to turn the C4 into something hideous, however, equipping it with unnecessary hood vents, a body kit, terrible chrome wheels and a pointless oversized rear spoiler.

The upside to this listing is the Corvette appears to be in very good shape and has probably been well taken care of. If it weren’t for all the custom add-ons, this would actually be a decent example of the model, and we actually don’t mind the metallic brown paint job.

Of course you could always remove the silly Fast & Furious-style wings and vents, but the seller is asking $17,000 for the car, which is more than you would normally pay for a C4 of this year with 39,000 miles on it. That can only mean they think their not-so-attractive modifications have added value to the car, which they unfortunately haven’t. If they would lower the price a bit, it might just find a new home before he has to relist it.
