Corvette Racing’s Oliver Gavin Rolls Up To The Geneva Motor Show In Style: Video

The C7 Corvette and C7 Corvette Z06 are currently being sold in select European markets, so its important Chevy markets the sports cars correctly to local consumers. This week, the European automotive world’s eyes are fixated on the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, so Chevrolet made sure the Corvette left a lasting impression on attendees.

Chevy didn’t just bring their different versions of the C7 Corvette to Geneva. They also brought along Corvette Racing driver and four-time Le Mans winner Oliver Gavin to help promote the car. The British hot shoe didn’t show up in the back of an SUV wearing a suit, either, pulling up to Geneva in a C7 Z06 and his full race attire.

Ollie showing up to Geneva in his racing suit is a creative way for Chevy to express the strong link between the road-going C7 Z06 and Corvette Racing’s C7.R. The road car and race car were co-developed alongside one another and share several components with each other including the chassis, aerodynamics elements and engine technologies, Chevy says.

Watch Ollie’s Geneva arrival in the video below. You can also catch him in the C7.R when the Corvette racing team heads to Florida later this month for the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Sam loves to write and has a passion for auto racing, karting and performance driving of all types.

  1. Should’ve done it with the C7.R, had it been Redbull they would have showed up with Ricciardo in the RB11 and the engine screaming
