If you missed the first update, we’ll recap for you briefly. Chevrolet Performance, in partnership with Mobil 1, was given a bone-stock Chevrolet Silverado and has set out to build the ultimate adventure-mobile, with updates posted periodically to the Chevrolet Performance’s blog, The Block.
After deciding on a prerunner style build for the Silverado, modeled after trophy trucks, the latest update as landed with the team adding their lift kit. The lift kit is an essential piece to this look, since prerunner builds aren’t to be lifted too high, but also don’t sit near stock levels.
They decided upon BajaKits based out of Anaheim, California, for their lift kit, and it finally has found its way onto the Silverado. The kit extends the front wheels out 2.5-inches for a more aggressive look, and the King shocks are tuned specifically for the kit to retain a plush ride.
The update entails the disassembly of the factory suspension, and then installing the BajaKit setup. Upon onboxing, the team was impressed with the control arms, which were powder coated a metallic silver, contrasting the baby-blue shocks. The build quality is reported to be very quality, and the shocks are already custom tuned and valved, meaning there is no need to pressurize them.
The end result is a light lift, that is more than capable to hit the trail without looking absurd. Next up is the installation of 35-inch tires to compliment the new lift kit. You can see the entire installation process here, and stay tuned for future updates on the project.
