In just a short time, Cadillac will introcuce the highly anticipated 2016 CT6 ahead of the New York International Auto Show. The new full-size sedan will be the first new large luxury car  from Cadillac in quite some time, making it extremely important, seeing as that’s what the brand’s roots lie.
We’ve already seen the front of the CT6 thanks to Cadillac’s ‘Dare Greatly’ Oscars ad campaign and we’ve also seen a small glimpse of the interior thanks to Bose’s recent announcement in regards to the car’s groundbreaking 34-speaker audio system. Today Cadillac gave us another good look at its new four-door, releasing a somewhat dark teaser image of the sedan’s imposing front end.
In this photo we can see some of the finer details in the CT6’s grille along with an extremely long, LED waterfall ligting element running down the outside edge, similar to the current CTS. We see a little bit of the Elmiraj concept in the CT6’s front end, but we’ll have to wait until it breaks cover in NYC before we find out how much more inspiration Cadillac pulled from the Elmiraj for the CT6.

Wow, I love the corvette inspired lower chin with the tab sticking out, and the headlight with the angle giving it a “mean” look, looks amazing!
Also this might be the higher end model maybe a platinum, the ct6 in the date greatly ads had a lot less chrome on the grille, just a observation
@Eric, I noticed the exact same thing. Would make sense that the one they use for the unveiling would be a fully loaded Platinum or comparable model
@jack yeah I agree, if your going to unveil a brand changing car like this why not show off the cream of the crop. Even though eventually it’ll be the V I’m guessing that’s still at least a year away
American luxury cars are back!
Lincoln, while playing catch up, will be good competition to keep them on their toes…and deliver world-beating cars.
Now hearing it has standard AWD and Rear-Wheel Steering!
Great American car… Ford is still in the concept stage.
Wow, that front end looks quite amazing! Can’t wait to see more of it. I am more interested in the technology what this car has same as for what the interior will look like.
Its been in the latest Car and Driver that is already out.
It is a nice looking car but not an Elmirage. It does carry the sense of a larger CTS with some improvements and that is not a bad thing.
The real beauty is under the skin with standard AWD and lighter weight. The car is larger than it looks which is a good thing.
Cue has bee upgraded to console touch pad.
Also Rear steering is incorporated into the car for better slow maneuverability and better high speed lane changes. She will be a larger lady but one that still moves and does not look like a house.
This car will do well here in the states but will be a home run in China. This is just what they look for.
Note to all this is still not the be all of Cadillac’s future. This will be a major step up from the XTS but the next leg of the push forward is still yet to come.
The car works well too with a 10.2 das screen and 5..5 more inches of leg room. It comes in at 43 pounds lighter than the CTS but has 8 inches more length.
The engines are the 2.0 Turbo 272, the new 3.6 at just over 350 HP by release and the 3.0 Turbo with just over 400 HP by release.
We will get a V8 TT in about a year and RWD is also available.
The AWD has three setting that control the split of power and looks very promising.
Now be prepared some folks will poo poo this car because it is not one of the past show cars. But they forget this car was in the works long before those show cars came about. The show cars are what gave Cadillac the boost it needed to show GM what they really wanted too do and they finally got approval to move in that direction. Now the cars we get will not be the show cars but they will be every bit as dramatic. They will change as you can expect a 4-5 year old show car to retain the impact.
Will that be a 4.0 TT V8 with 544-560 hp?
It’d be nice if they go w/ a 5.0 TT V8 w/ 680-700 hp.
The V8 at this point is a guess as it was the only number not releases.
I really do not see this car competing with the CTS V but I see it more as a V sport model. Who knows they may offer both.
Either way this is not going to be the top volume car and I expect it to be more of a comfort car with good performance vs. a performance car with good comfort.
The mission of this car is a little different.
Does seem a bit to CTS like but I still like it. ill wait for reveal and in person to truly judge it though
The styling could easily pass as an updated CTS but that is not a bad thing to me.
Some may call it boring or be upset it is not the Elmiage or one of the other show cars but there is lot of focus here on quality and China with this car too.
The shape of the car to me makes me thing a Maybach profile crosses with a CTS. Larger but tidy in looks. It fits the segment well for it’s mission but I am sure Cadillac will morph this styling more in the coming car. The true Flagship will display much more drama in the styling as it will need to make a statement not just mechanically but physically.
This is one of these cars half will love it and about 1/4 will be ok with it and 1/4 will complain they did not do enough but without considering the background story of this car.
This car will continue to advance Cadillac but not to the degree some expect and they will be disappointed. But as I have warned prior this car is only a step into the future and they will continue to build from here. This model will advance and do Cadillac no harm into it’s growth.
The car showed in the teaser is different as the car for the Oscar`s Commercial, look like a “V” versión of the CT6, the grille is more sportier and different
No V
I don’t see Elmiraj at all up front however I do see a sorta Ciel concept from 2011 look. Which is also not a bad thing.
I have seen the car a a slight smoothness to the side like the show cars but that is it.
I also see some Ciel design cues in the shape of the front clip . Hard to see the headlight cluster , probably done on purpose or the resolution on my puter is off . The Cadillac Shield looks huge , Escalade size . But fits the size of the waterfall grill . Kinda hoping the shield is lit up at night though . That would be awesome . Mercedes does it and the concept of Lincolns Continental did too . Sometimes its the little things like that that get people talking .
Its been revealed on http://www.Carscoops.com .
