Chevrolet recently celebrated the official European debut of the C7 Corvette Z06 at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Europeans will be able to buy the Corvette Z06 for the first time ever starting this year, so putting it on display at Geneva was especially important as Chevy looks to sell more Corvettes overseas.
Europeans will pay a slight premium compared to American buyers for the privilege of owning a C7 Z06. While the supercharged supercar starts at $78,995 here in its home market, it will command 99,500 euros ($106,691 USD) in Germany. The Z06 still offers the most bang for your buck even with the price bump, though, delivering more power than many European sports cars for less money.
Several recognizable faces were on hand for the Z06’s European launch, as seen in the video below. Corvette Racing’s Oliver Gavin was on hand to help describe the link between the road-going Z06 and the C7.R, and GM vice president of global design, Ed Welburn, was present to describe the Z06’s aggressive, uniquely American styling.
Anyone familiar with Geneva knows there’s hoards of supercars and impressive machines on hand, but we have a feeling the Z06 has no problem standing out among the crowd there.
