If it’s a completely custom weekend racer that you’re after, there are few chassis that could serve you better than that of the Corvette C6 Z06. Like the 2015 Camaro Z/28 (though years earlier), the Z06-badged sixth-generation ‘Vette had a 505 HP LS7 V8 with a mammoth 7.0-liter displacement. That enabled the car to go like stink; the rear-mounted transaxle meant it could corner with the best sportscars of the time.
Well, for your consideration, there’s this complete, clean, loaded rolling chassis from a Corvette C6 Z06 for sale on Craigslist. The owner goes on at length about how much money you’ll save over purchasing the LS7 crate engine ($14k or so, he says), and then having to supplement everything else yourself; this chassis is a bargain at just $21,250.
The Z06 chassis this seller is offering reportedly only has all of 13k miles on it, and when we say clean, we do mean clean. And according to our source, DPCcars, a brand new LS7 crate engine costs closer to $17k, making this relatively inexpensive rolling chassis all the more appealing.
