If you were hoping to come into the deal of a lifetime on a gently used Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, we’re sorry to disappoint; it didn’t last very long at all on eBay before someone snatched it up.
Jalopnik reported on this remarkable eBay find: a 2015 Corvette Stingray with Z51 package, a manual transmission, navigation, and a mere 1,374 miles on the clock for just $39,000. Of course, there was a bit of a catch; the car had been in an accident involving the front driver’s side quarter. As such, at the very least it required a new quarter panel, door, headlight, taillight, side windows, and some cosmetic work.
Even still, the Corvette’s frame was left intact from the accident, with no damage to the powertrain, and no deployment of the airbags. Jalopnik dug up some parts on eBay, at a total of $1,300, not including paint and other cosmetic work. Assuming an additional $2,000 for those details (a very pessimistic approximation), that’s still a perfectly good, low-mileage Corvette Stingray for just $42,300.
Talk about bang for your buck.
