Sometimes you stumble upon something truly special, and this is one of those times. Surfing through eBay, we stumbled upon this beautiful machine. What you see here is a true, fully documented, 1969 COPO Chevelle, about three times as rare as a COPO Camaro when considering production numbers.
323 of these cars were ever built, with 99 documented as sold to Yenko for conversion. 17 to 22 of them were shipped to Canada for consumption, and this one comes from the our neighbors to the North with full GM Canada documentation to verify its legitimacy.
The COPO, or Central Office Production Order, was a response to Yenko builds during this timeframe. What signified a COPO were a few production codes, three to be specific. Not only are COPO Chevelles hard to come by, but this one is optioned with all three order codes, including factory power windows.
Powering the COPO Chevelle is factory 427 cubic-inch V8 making an incredible 425 hp for the time, sent to a three speed automatic gearbox. The car has had a total “rotisserie” style restoration, and the best part is everything, and we mean everything is factory on this build. Because some things are better left untouched.
Currently, the car sits with an asking price of $179,000 on eBay with plenty of time left for bidding. Grab your checkbooks, because this is one special car.
