1946 Chevrolet Sinclair Tanker Will Remind You Of A Simpler Time

Remember when you were young and you had your Hot Wheels (because Matchbox cars were just never as cool…) spread out on the floor? Even though you didn’t play with it often, there was always a tanker truck.

The tanker truck played a vital part in your pseudo toy-car operation, though. It had gas to deliver, cars to pick up and other toys it had to reach. Real tanker trucks do the same thing, but this 1946 Chevrolet Sinclair Tanker exudes the same kind of character your childhood toy bin had.

The tanker will be crossing the block at Mecum Houston during April 9th-11th, and the seller notes the truck has been completely restored to its original state. The minty Sinclair motor oil hue can only be one of the 1940s, and looks appropriately at home here.

Your inner child won’t have to worry either, because like that aforementioned toy tanker truck and its delivering duties, this real life sized version comes with a matching Sinclair gasoline pump. That way you can put all of your childhood practice with toys to use.

  1. Nice truck. Really too bad GM is not in the medium duty truck game anymore, my company gives a lot of business to Freightliner and Navistar that used to go to GM.. What ever happened to the Manoli Katakis predictions that GM would return to medium duty?
