Okay, so one is an aftermarket tuning company, and one is factory. Still, we’re living in the golden age of horsepower. To grab someone’s ear’s these days you’d better be showing up to the party with at least 500 hp. Or 707 hp like the Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcat put down to the crank.
Hennessey Performance Engineering has a few words for Dodge and their Hellcat twins with their very first supercharged Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. Well, they’re more like noises. Wailing-supercharged infused V8 noises.
Here’ we have the very first dyno run of the 750 hp HPE Camaro Z/28, besting the Hellcats by 43 hp at the crank. But, let’s not forget the Z/28’s superb chassis and track dynamics, something the Hellcat just wasn’t designed to do. HPE may have created the ultimate track and dragstrip machine in the process of engineering this new build and we can’t wait to see this car in action.
For the time being, we’ll be sitting at our computers listening to that engine make pulls over, and over.
