It’s an unfortunate reality; sometimes, drag races result in unfathomable humiliation. In this video, we see an example of such humiliation, where a 2015 Corvette Z06 absolutely trounces an Audi R8.
This isn’t a stock Z06; the video description specifies that its been given a supercharger overdrive pulley and a tune, the result of which is 661 HP at the wheels. Conversely, we don’t know whether the Audi R8 has been modified at all, but it certainly looks tame from the quarter-mile.
Regardless, this is an interesting drag race, because one would think that even bone-stock, the Audi R8 would at least put up a fight off the line with its AWD. The reality is much more embarrassing, as the 2015 Corvette Z06 handily walks away from the Audi without breaking a sweat. Perhaps the German car would fare better with a driver switch.
This Corvette Z06 ends up running an 11-second quarter-mile, at 128 mph. That’s a full second, and 10 mph, better than the R8.
Comments
the only idea is to compare the stock cars. Audi R8 models are different as well.
and of course we do not know the experience of the leaders.
only thought is if the same driver is driving a car that is both tock.
audi r8 is old to
tuned cars is bulshit to compare.
Today it is particularly difficult, because no one will know whether and what is tuned car. even a completely new cars have been identified differences compared to the data.
