Warren Buffett’s 2006 Cadillac DTS Banks $122,500 For Girls Inc. Charity

After putting the car up for auction on Proxibid earlier this month, Warren Buffett’s 2006 Cadillac DTS has sold for $122,500. All proceeds from the sale will go to Girls Inc., a charity which advocates for, supports and educates girls around the world.

Buffett has owned the DTS since 2006, when he bought it new, and recently had the car replaced with a Cadillac XTS after General Motors’ CEO Mary Barra suggested he do so. Bidding for the car started at $10,000 on February 11 and closed this past Thursday. A DTS with 36,000 miles on the odometer that hadn’t been owned and signed by Buffett would fetch around $12,000.

The amount is more than Buffett got for his last car. In 2006, he auctioned off his Lincoln Town Car, which had a license plate that read ‘Thrifty’, for $76,000.
