Pick Up A New Sunday Cruiser With This 1949 Cadillac Series 61: eBay Find

It doesn’t get more much more classic for Cadillac than this. This 1949 Cadillac Series 61 is your perfect companion for a Sunday evening cruise, or a quick spin to your local classic car show. The seller admits there are a few imperfections, but that wouldn’t stop us from grabbing the keys to this classic.

The Caddy received a cosmetic restoration ten years ago where it was repainted and totally refinished. A few minor scratches and dings exist, as mentioned, but aren’t something to keep this car from selling. A crazy-low 72,000 miles read on the odometer, meaning there’s plenty of life left in the dark-blue tail-finned Caddy.

Speaking of tail-fins, the ’49 Series 61 was actually the first Cadillac to feature the styling element that would go down in history as an icon of ’50s Americana. Cadillac says the fins were inspired by the Lockheed P-38 fighter plane used during WWII. A very cool factoid you can tell all of your buddies if you’re tempted to pull the trigger on this beaut’.

Anyways, getting back to business, the car has been meticulously cared for with proper maintenance and new parts. Before the build in 2004, no rust existed on the car, so no need to worry about about rotting panels. The build also saw a total transmission rebuild, rear-end rebuild, and steering box rebuild. It also received brand new tires in 2011, solid white of course.

The car currently sits on eBay at $38,100 with the reserve not met. With six days left to bid, there’s plenty of time to make of move on this slice of Cadillac history.
