Searching for a classic automobile can be a chore to find a vehicle in good condition that hasn’t been abused or racked up an endless amount of miles on the odometer. Normally, when that special vehicle is found, the asking price isn’t near the range of affordability.
Things are a tad different for late 80s muscle cars, particularly Camaros and Firebirds. The cars have yet to hit their stride in appreciation making them affordable vehicles for the enthusiast. This particular 1986 Camaro IROC Z/28 may be something you really want to look into because it has an original 9,282 miles. An incredible feat through proper storage in a climate controlled garage with regular baths and wax jobs.
Gas Monkey Garage, the seller of the vehicle, reports the previous owner kept absolutely everything inside the cockpit covered with towels, and it shows. The vehicle is absolutely immaculate. The Camaro has never seen any sort of wet precipitation, and was driven ever sparingly. The only minor hiccup is a small rock chip in the front bumper, which the seller states is present, but not visible from the photos.
Further inspection showed it was indeed correctly specified as an IROC Z/28, with the car even retaining the original coded tires, reading the 12th week of 1986 as their manufacture date.
Currently, the Camaro has an asking price of $21,000, but is open to bids on eBay. For those seeking further information and photos, visit the listing here.
