National Corvette Museum Invites Drivers For High Speed Autocross Event: Video

While the National Corvette Museum is under construction to repair and fill in the surprise sinkhole that occurred, the facility isn’t putting the brakes on other activities to keep people engaged. On January 17th, the NCM hosted its very first Michelin-X high-speed autocross event, turning the NCM Motorsports park into a proper speed course.

Unlike tradition autocross, the event can see speeds up to 90 mph, but the course has been laid out for the experienced and professionals alike. The event saw a wide variety of cars, from Corvettes (obviously), to Porsches, to Mini Coopers, each seeking victory in their class with quick times.

The event costs $75 and gets you unlimited runs on the course, a steal in terms of autocross, and it will be hard to find a cooler course than this to run your car. The event was extremely successful, and since the 17th a second event was held on January 31st, and a closing winter event will be held on February 21st. If you’re seeking more information on the event, follow the link here to see how you can make your way to the competition.

In the meantime, take a look at the competitors and listen to some sweet sounding noises as they run across the course in the video down below.
