The last time we checked up on the National Corvette Museum’s sinkhole, we noted the hole was filling up rather nicely with the construction crew’s mix of limestone and sand. The NCM has now released another video update on the sinkhole’s progress, showing the Corvette-swallowing void now completely filled and looking like a (nearly) complete floor.
Sinkhole project manager Zach Massey says they plan on finalizing the subgrade, planning the elctrical wiring layouts for the floor and putting a few more finishing touches on the flooring this week. Once complete, crews will be able to come in and lay the concrete flooring for the project, which should now have no problem staying above ground.
Eventually, the vastly overhauled Sky Dome room at the NCM will be able to safely house priceless Corvettes, but in the mean time, these NCM video updates will keep us in the loop.
