Give Your GMT900 Chevy Silverado Or GMC Sierra The Clear-Chrome Tail Light Treatment With These Spyder LEDs

If you own a 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra and are looking to give it a little something new in the appearance department, then you should have a look at these Spyder chrome tail lights. Featuring a clear acrylic lens with a chrome-painted poly-carbonate housing, the units house bright Phillips LED lights with an advertised lifespan of about 336 hours. Not only will the lights give your Silverado or Sierra truck a new look thanks to their unique detail visible just beyond the lens, but Spyder says that they will also improve safety thanks to better visibility furnished by the quicker activation and increased brightness of LEDs, all while meeting all federal regulations for highway use.

The good news doesn’t end there, since those who prefer to smoke out their lights are in luck: adding several coats of VHT tail light tint over these puppies will decrease the output of light, but won’t impair the visibility of the brighter LEDs.

The lights are listed for $253.12, but carid.com is selling them for 20 percent off at $202.50. The bolt-on install looks pretty simple and the reviews seem reassuring. So this might just be the way to go for those who want to make their GMT900-based GM truck stand out from the rest.

  1. After market tail-lights never seem to improve the looks, and all these after market lights always seem to suffer from poor properly working lights. Seems every LED aftermarket tail-light I see is way to bright running so when they hit the brakes they don’t appear to light up much brighter (can’t tell they are stopping easily), then the regular bulb tail-lights always seem to less bright than stock and worse to see braking and signaling. Look like something AEM would produce.

  2. My Dad has a set of these only with a black backing. Looks better than smoking them in my opinion. He also has a matching set of Spyder halo HIDs.

  3. I have a set of black Spyder tails on my G8. They complete the look of the car to me and they work excellently. The Spyder headlights I have are just alright. HID kit makes them better.

  4. I had the optional fog lights installed by the dealer when I bought the Spyder. I replaced both of the setups with HID Kits. The bulbs are different sizes, I think one is an H7 and the other set is an H8, but would have to look deeper into that to be sure. The kits come with the bulb and ballast, you use the original housings and lenses. So, in order to go with HID fogs you have to have the factory ones there first. I hope that clarifies it better.
