General Motors Files Trademark Application For ‘Chevrolet Spark Activ’

General Motors has filed an application to register the term “Chevrolet Spark Activ” as a trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), GM Authority was first to discover.

The automaker’s January 21st, 2015 application carries serial number 86509190 and specifies that the mark will be used for “Passenger vehicles, namely, light duty pickup trucks.”

Does the application foreshadow a ruggedized (active) variant of the Spark city car? That’s one possibility, with such a vehicle having been thought of by a rendering artist in 2011 (pictured above). Another possibility is the crossover version of the Spark. Both sound like production-feasible vehicles that we’d like to see Chevy introduce.

  3. The Bolt concept is a small CUV and that name fits the body.

    1. The Bolt concept is no CUV. It looks more like a tall hatch because it’s short and tall, which gives it even more pronounced height. In reality, it’s more a Prius C competitor from a market and dimension standpoint.
