Chevrolet used Sunday’s 2015 Daytona 500 as an opportunity to boast about its significant accomplishments in NASCAR. In a brand-new spot, the manufacturer boldly stated, “when you find new roads, you become the most dominant manufacturer in NASCAR history.”
The commercial may seem like a shameless brag on Chevy’s part, but we can hardly say we blame them. Chevrolet has won 738 NASCAR races, 29 Driver’s Championships and 38 Manufacturers’ Championships, more than any other manufacturer. Additionally, it has won the Daytona 500 a record 23 times. Wouldn’t you want to shout those accomplishments from the rooftops?
The ad joined Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Silverado ad on the Daytona 500 airwaves Sunday as Chevy attempted to capitalize on the massive audience NASCAR’s season opener attracts. You may just catch the ad airing again throughout the NASCAR season, but considering it mentions Daytona specifically, this could have been a one-off for the Great American race. We’ve embedded it below in case you missed it, so have a look and let us know what you think.
