Traditionally, and we’re not sure if it’s a running gag, Top Gear doesn’t much care for American cars. Most of the time, our favorite British petrolheads have a seat in an American car and things like “shhtuupid” or “rubbish” come to mind.
Maybe this piece of American performance will change their minds. Yes, we’re talking about the C7 Corvette Stingray. The C7 Corvette has already been received with heaping amounts of positive reactions, including Top Gear itself. But this will be the first time since the C6 ZR1 that a Corvette will be tested on the show.
The brief trailer for the upcoming episode presumably shows Richard Hammond power sliding a yellow C7 Corvette through a bend as a Porsche Cayman follows closely behind. Maybe it makes sense Hammond be the one driving the 455 hp spun from the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter LT1 V8. After all, he is a secret American.
Be sure to tune in for this episode, as it features plenty of other eye candy and entertaining bits, including a Ferrari LaFerrari and a Peugeot rummaging through some forest. Have a look at the trailer below.
