2015 Chevy Colorado Sales Are Very Strong In Los Angeles: By The Numbers

One might not presume that a state whose name is synonymous with the environmentally-conscious would prove a very successful marketplace for a pickup truck. In this case, that would be wrong; the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado has sold more units in Los Angeles than any other city.
A press release from General Motors also proudly announces that the mid-size pickup has assumed the role of second highest market share in the US, beating out the Nissan Frontier.
What’s more surprising is some of the other figures; over 40 percent of Colorado buyers nationally are trading-in products from other manufacturers, and the age of 2015 Chevy Colorado buyers is declining. GM reports that around 17 percent of buyers are between the ages of 16 and 35.
Chevy Colorado Marketing Manager Tony Johnson said that “L.A. was a big target for the Colorado, where people can use the utility of a pickup, but don’t necessarily have the space for a full-sized truck. The in-roads we’ve made there are proof that it is the right fit for that market.”

So you are Implying that these Trucks are an Environmental Disaster?? For a Writer you sure don’t know the Specs of the Vehicles you Writing about, these Trucks fit in here then most Cars and wait till the Diesel comes out!!! 😉
This is Aaron Birch and he is one of the posters here that often gets it wrong or likes to post an agenda of some liberal means. He has a nasty habit of trying to tie liberal causes to reported automotive stories.
Case in point here he is trying to make a Ecological issue of a smaller more efficient truck that he has no clue about.
The fact is California buys a hell of a lot of trucks there and this one is very appealing because it is easier on gas and smaller in size to make it easier to get around in traffic in. With so few smaller modern trucks out there this one fits their needs well. This was why GM really has targeted LA for this vehicle.
If Aaron had done his home work the smaller trucks first took off in So Cal in the 70’s and have enjoyed popularity there for years.
A great vehicle. Better when the diesel comes out, but the prices they’re charging are ridiculous. I also think only making the small, efficient, high-tech engine available on the low-end model borders on bait and switch. The vehicle isn’t nearly as efficient as they are promoting it to be with the bigger, thirstier engines, and the last thing LA needs is more gas-guzzlers pumping out smog while crawling along in stop and stop traffic.
I did my time in LA. 8 years. Never going back. Like living in a tailpipe.
Apparently Jack fails to understand that the fuel economy and tailpipe emissions relationship is not linear. Vehicles of a given type (trucks, cars) must meet specified emissions standards regardless of their fuel economy. And since these new GM midsized trucks are 2015 models they are apt to be much, much cleaner tailpipe wise that were the vehicles they replaced. Hello? Perhaps his brain was affected by all of that LA smog.
Why criticize the gas mileage of the Colorado when it’s best in class! Dealers in my area keep keep them on the lot so I ordered one. Can not wait to get it. This will be my first truck ever.
