Watch The Buick Avenir Unveiling: Video

To some degree, the Buick Avenir was quite the surprise at the 2015 North American International Auto Show. It stole the show in terms of what General Motors offered up, and aside from the Ford GT, its easily one of the best reveals in terms of keeping a secret from the press. Buick held an extravagant party where it also unveiled the 2016 Buick Casacada convertible for North America, set to arrive early next year. We had a hunch Buick wouldn’t go through all that trouble just to show as an Opel we already knew was on the way, though. Shortly after, Mark Reuss took center stage and introduced what previews future Buick design. Thanks to a surprise performance by The Sing Off finalists, Ten (an accapella group), the Buick Avenir was unveiled to a harmony of music as it rolled out center stage. The design was assembled by Holden, where we can see future global ties forming between Buick, Opel and the Aussie brand. In addition, the Avenir concept could preview an all-new full-size sedan from Buick based on the all-new Omega RWD-based architecture. Have a look at the official unveiling video, which we’ve provided for you below.

      1. Buick is definitely back but I think tomko is right the design is tailored for the Chinese, Buick has started to gain allot of traction there. Personally I like the exterior design allot but I dislike the large separation that runs through the middle I hope that never happens.

  2. Here’s the problem with Buick… they build these stunning concept vehicles showing exactly what the designers are capable of doing and then we end up with cars and crossovers that are simply just okay. The production vehicles don’t elicit emotion! The concepts do just that! I can only hope and dream they build this car, but I fear this will only go the way of all the other stunning concepts Buick has come up with over the years. This vehicle will not see the light of day outside of GM.

  3. We may not see this exact car , but what we are seeing is the design philosophy of cars currently being designed for future models . Buick will watch and listen to people that see it for the first time to see what the public likes . They are doing the same thing BMW is doing right now ,showing us where they plan on taking the brands design . Concepts now are alot closeer to production vehicles than in the past . Remember the Cadillac XLR ? No one thougght it would be built . Changing a few items and it landed in dealers showrooms .

  4. Im hopeing Buick will build a RWD flagship that dosent look exacty like the concept… but like it…. I hope they build it vary soon because a RWD flagship romered for years now… thats why I think the 1970s is way better than today and a FWD flagship is just plan old and aged.
