Corvette Racing directors have confirmed IndyCar driver Ryan Briscoe will be included in their driver lineup for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Racer reports. Briscoe, who is without an IndyCar drive this year after being let go by Chip Ganassi racing, will fill the shoes of Richard Westbrook in the No. 3 Corvette C7.R alongside Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia.
Briscoe joined the Corvette Racing camp last year as an extra driver for the Tudor United Sports Car Championship’s endurance races. He will play a larger role with the team this year, now being included in their FIA WEC 24 Hours of Le Mans efforts. Official confirmation of his appearance at Le Sarthe in March will come when the FIA publishes the official Le Mans entry list on February 5th, with Briscoe saying he “hoped to go back” to Le Mans.
The No.4 car will be driven by returning Wayne Taylor Racing driver Jordan Taylor, along with Corvette Racing mainstays Tommy Milner and Oliver Gaving. IndyCar star Simon Pagenaud, who joined Corvette Racing for select endurance events this year, will race with the team during the 12 Hours of Sebring in March, the next leg of the TUSCC.
