General Motors may not be running ads during TV coverage of this weekend’s Super Bowl XLIX, but its GMC brand, a major sponsor of NFL football, will have a heavy presence inside the University of Phoenix’s stadium and in the Phoenix area.
GMC says it has partnered up with Emmy winning TV host Jenni Hogan to provide all-access coverage of the weekend’s festivities. She will be presenting from the GMC mobile studio, a 2015 GMC Yukon XL equipped with OnStar’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi, where she will interview players and celebrities. She will also bring us coverage from VIP parties and provide a play-by-play of the game.
“GMC looks forward to providing fans and family members a memorable experience throughout the Super Bowl week,” Duncan Aldred, U.S. vice president of GMC sales and marketing, said in a statement. “Whether it’s behind the scenes via the #VIPwithGMC hashtag or onsite at our displays in and around Phoenix, fans of every team can get involved.”
In addition to providing on-site coverage, GMC will have a heavy vehicle presence in the Phoneix area, with more than 600 vehicles sitauted in the city. The GMC trucks and SUVs will support different activities all weekend and will be used for shuttle services. They will also be on display at the special “NFL Experience Engineered by GMC,” a special event to be held at the Phoenix Convention Center.
In addition to displaying the Canyon, Yukon, Sierra and Denali lineup, the GMC NFL Experience also allows fans to use GMC-branded interactive displays, get player autographs, get their picture on a virtual copy of EA Sports’ Madden NFL 15 game, have a caricature created by a digital artist and much more.
On Sunday, GMC will be present with even more interactive displays with photo sharing, vehicle displays and player autographs. Excited for game day yet?
