With the first 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and 2015 GMC Canyon pickups starting to flood the market, the aftermarket is busy building all sorts of goodies. One of the first to market is well-known muffler maker MagnaFlow with a single or dual exit exhaust setup for both trucks. These systems, still officially under development, are sure to give the new trucks the much sought-after smooth, deep rumble.
MagnaFlow’s custom exhaust setup is one of the first available. It works with both the 2.5L four-cylinder engine and the larger 3.6L V6. Both exhaust setups exit behind the passenger rear tire.
The new exhaust system is made from stainless steel with fully welded three-inch tubing and 3.5-inch polished stainless tips. The muffler measures out to 5-inch tall, by 8-inches wide, by 18-inch long. Â MagnaFlow has dyno-tested the setup and says customers will see performance gains in both horsepower and torque.
Prices haven’t been released yet for the 19018 single exit and 19019 dual exit exhaust systems, but we will be sure to spread the word when pricing materializes.

I understand the importance of exhaust design, regulations, tuning, etc. What I don’t understand is why anyone thinks that adding 2 feet of oversize chrome tubing aft of the muffler is attractive or functional. I would be much more impressed to not see any exhaust pipe at all — simply a hole in the side of the muffler can would be lighter, cheaper, invisible to observers, and one less thing to tarnish & rust off. What am I missing?
Anon, I am sure that it is a Cat back exhaust and some people do like it (the sound ) plus it does give it more power !
Oh, I get that. Why not also make it lighter? Drop all tubing aft of the muffler and you have even less backpressure.
What does a huge chrome tip do for people? Why do people want to see this? They don’t seem to want to have oversized chrome tubes around their home sewer pipes. What’s the difference?
Some automotive fashion is beyond silly.
