If you haven’t heard of Factory Five, they create some of the gnarliest kit cars your money can buy. Normally, you place your order with the company for your very own Factory Five GTM, but an example has appeared on eBay fully assembled and ready for someone to pilot the machine.
The Factory Five GTM takes the bones of a C5 Chevrolet Corvette and then produces unique sheetmetal akin to a Ford GT and Saleen mashup. The frame is designed using laser precision high-strength carbon steel. The design also incorporates a low center of gravity for the sportscar.
The body of the supercar is hand laid, and chassis parts are formed in aluminum including the cockpit, radiator surround, trunk, engine bay and splash guards. More C5 Corvette parts find their way into the front and rear suspension, specifically the upper and lower control arms.
Most importantly, the heart of the Factory Five GTM is an LS6 V8. With the massive powerplant, the GTM is able to sprint to 60 mph in three seconds flat, and the quarter mile happens in eleven seconds at 132 mph. Yes, the GTM is hellish fast. It’s also loaded with the comforts you’d come to expect in a basic sedan with air conditioning and power windows.
This example has an Indiana title and is listed on eBay for $56,000, or if you’re into projects you can order your own customized example from the company directly at the link here.

The GTM is what the Corvette should be. Now with Ford resurrecting its GT, the time is now for GM to get serious with a mid-engine supercar, whatever it wants to call it. I like the Zora name.
