It Might Not Be A Super Bowl Ad, But This Seems To Be The First 2016 Chevy Volt Commercial

Chevrolet has released an all-new video showing off the 2016 Volt in all its plug-in hybrid glory, as the vehicle ventures from cityscape, to curvy backland roads.
First and foremost, we’re big fans of the new design language. A tip of the hat for a design that doesn’t scream “I’m a plug-in!” but still captures the essence that is the Chevrolet Volt, a milestone no matter your stance on the car’s birth. The car looks great as it rolls through a CGI created city, then to a green forested area and through a barrage of other environments. We especially like the way the tail-lamps glow at night.
The video highlights the massaged powertrain, which can now travel 50 miles on pure electricity. That only furthers the distance the Volt can do, which now checks in at over 400 miles before the car runs of out steam. The all-electric charge is now also 30 percent better, leading to those increased numbers.
It looks like the second-generation of the Chevrolet Volt is poised to be a big one. Check out the video we’ve provided down below. Just don’t expect it during Super Bowl XLIX.

LOVE that ad!! Now that’s what Chevy needs to be doing with all their cars!
nice promo video but it cant be an ad to play at the autoshow or similar launch event. the length is 1 min 11 secs which is an odd commercial length and it has no voice over.
definitely not an ad.
The Volt looks great!
This is exactly how the Cruze should look. It is a pretty, truly unique design that body slams Ford while matching both Kia and Mazda (the ‘value brand’ design leaders, in my view).
You see traces of Impala and Corvette in this car plus something new and unique for Chevy. I especially like the downward slope of the nose.
I’ll admit, I will seriously consider the Gen 2 Volt if the MSRP is under $30k. Having driven a prius around, I’m getting addicted to not having the car use gas while coasting or at stoplights/signs. So my next car will definitely be a plug-in, and if GM plays their price card right, it will be a the new Volt.
I read “400 miles before the car runs of out steam.” What does that supposed to say? The Volt never uses “steam” and the phrase has bad grammar. The correct way would be “400 miles before the car runs out of gas and electricity.”
GM needs to target buyers who would consider a Prius but don’t want to look dorky!
Look! A dead-sexy looking car with coupe lines, four doors and uses regular gas while
getting over 110 MPG!!! ( MPGe – who cares? ). Easy to plug at home during nighttime.
Gas free commutes with 420 mile range! Woo Hoo! GM hit it out of the park this time.
Now – if the marketing types can get the picture – and cut the crazy “yuk-yuk” “Why
are you at a gas station?! ” ads, Alien in the garage ads and robotic dog ads….They
might just compare it with a Prius and Prius Plug In, and tell folks to drive one before
they pop for the robo_Toyota. Drives better. More economical. Looks sexy not nerdy,
….What’s not to like?!!!
P.S. – Great with the new styling and improved performance all-’round, they added
some sporty colors. I’m buying the blue one.
