Agnes Gresen of Bradly Illinois is turning 100 years old. She lives alone, takes care of herself and even drives herself around still. In fact, she just had her license renewed so she could continue to get around town in her 1985 Buick Regal. Now that’s something miraculous.
Gresen, who lost her mother at age 3, says she has always taken care of herself since the passing of her mother. Growing up on a farm with manual labor feeds the fire as she closes in towards the big 100, and she prides herself on her independence.
Her 1985 Buick Regal gives her that independence as she looks forward to driving herself to her birthday party at the local lodge. Gresen purchased the Regal brand new in 1985 from a now defunct Buick GMC dealer, and has only accumulated 78,000 miles on the odometer over thirty years. That’s roughly only 2,600 miles per year.
“I take good care of it,” she said in regards to her Buick. “And I try to take care of myself. I only take a couple prescriptions. I watch what I eat. I don’t want to get fat.”
Maybe we can all learn a little something from Agnes. For the complete story on Agnes Gresen, visit The Daily Journal.

Agnes Gresen is a perfect candidate for a Chevy Volt. She can travel all 2,600 miles a year on electricity only, charging it overnight in her home.
Amazing. You Go Girl.
Need anyone say more about the Regal name identity problem?
The Regal is now one of the best models in history, selling by the thousands in China. Even Consumer Reports gave it the best Sports Sedan title. I am honored to be one of the many Regal owners with my 1995 Regal Limited sedan.
