Holden Shows You How To Repair A VE Ute’s Body Side Panel: Video

Holden doesn’t want to leave its customers in the dark when it comes to making repairs to their cars. The Australian automaker knows some of their buyers will happily work on and fix their cars themselves, so they provide tips on how to make these repairs in their “Holden’s Got Your Back” web video series.

Today, Mark Hickson, Holden’s engineer manager for body structure, is going to show us how to replace the body side outer panel of the VE Ute. Holden sells a kit for repairing the body side outer, which includes an outer panel and other sealers and baffles.

When repairing the body side outer panel, its important the metal baffle Hickson shows and the seals are all properly applied, to prevent any sort of outside fumes from entering the cabin of the car. Holden uses a smoke machine to demonstrate the necessary quality of the seal needed, however you can use your hand to check for air leaking through sealed areas.

So if some bogan clipped your Ute and you need to make the repairs yourself, Holden’s got your back. Head over to Holden Trade Club to order the necessary repair kit, and check out the video below for a run down of the repair process.
