Everyone loves a good track day. Bringing your toy to the track to give it a good workout is good for the soul and an excellent way to hone your skills as a driver. If you were looking to bring your skills to the next level, how about testing them in a C5 Chevrolet Corvette race car?
The car has surfaced on eBay with an asking price of $55,000, which includes a trailer to haul your new machine in. The seller says he acquired the car in 2012, and the basis of the creation is a 1999 Chevrolet Corvette. The seller also lists what he has done to the car in an extensive matter, including a total motor rebuild this past December. He also claims the car has seen minimal track time, even though track time is clearly the nature of this beast.
The rebuild includes a one year warranty on any failures and is reportedly valued at $30,000 alone. The car is putting down big numbers for a C5 Corvette at 700-horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque respectively. The seller also says its a high revving machine, so you can expect a screaming redline for all of that power.
Every bit of stock parts has been totally retooled for road racing, including the interior which features a Sparco flat-bottom steering wheel with quick release and a NASCAR style roll-cage. The livery scheme is modeled after the C5.R and the paint and vinyl is in very good condition.
