GM Issues Stop-Sale Of Lambda Crossovers Over Faulty Tires

General Motors has issued an immediate stop-sale of its full-size crossovers due to possibly faulty tires.

Affected vehicles: 2015 model year Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave full-size crossover.

Amount of vehicles affected: 6,500 units combined.

The problem: the three crossovers all use 18-inch Goodyear Fortera HL tires. Goodyear is recalling about 48,500 of the tires due to “very small” cracks in the treat during regular testing. Goodyear indicates that the cracks do not pose a safety risk.

Goodyear made roughly 32,100 of the Fortera HL tires for The General to use on its crossovers. Of these, 25,124 were used by GM and the other 16,400 units were sold to the aftermarket.
