The GM Authority Take
What could a Z71 Trail Boss mean? In terms of “light duty trucks,” that could fall under either the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado or Silverado 1500. And the Z71 has been synonymous with an off-road oriented truck configuration — but far from what we see with the Ford F-150 Raptor. A Z71 Trail Boss could suggest an elevation of the nameplate in some way, but we’ll stop short in saying that its either the Colorado ZR2 or Silverado ZR2 destined to fight the Ford Raptor that we’ve been looking for.

Trail Boss? Who came up with that name?
I sure hope this is an upgraded Z71 package! Maybe something like the TRD Pro Tundra/Tacoma? A slight height increase and ground clearance (in the silverado) would be perfect for my lifestyle. I’m pretty excited to hear what comes out of this!
