A Houston, Texas-based tuning and racing company named “Late Model Racecraft” has made a kit for the 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 which boosts RWHP on their test car past 700. The company claims that they are the first aftermarket tuner to do so, and we have no reason to disbelieve it.
The YouTube video below shows a dynamometer run, where the computer prints a (ludicrous, ungodly) figure of 743 HP to the screen. Assuming a very low, 10 percent driveline loss, that would mean about 826 HP at the crank. The Z06 has been fitted with the company’s Stage II Kit, but details as to what that encompasses are nil.
And looking at the company’s website, it doesn’t seem as though they’ve begun offering any kits for the Corvette C7 for sale, let alone the supercharged Z06 model. Nevertheless, this dyno run is absolutely all sorts of exciting, not only in terms of what owners will be able to attain when LMR finally makes a kit available for purchase, but also in terms of what might be accomplished by further tuning efforts with the 6.2-liter LT4.
