Chevrolet Camaro SS Lands In India For R&D

We don’t imagine that there would be a large number of opportunities to wring out an all-American muscle car in India. Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean there wouldn’t be a market for such cars there.

And as Motoroids reports, signals are cropping up which suggest that Chevrolet and Ford might start to export America’s muscular sweethearts for sale in India.

Reportedly, GM India has imported a left-hand drive, 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS for use in Research and Development. That is a bit surprising, seeing as the last we heard, Chevrolet had canceled any alleged plans of making a right-hand drive version of the sixth-generation Camaro, and India is (of course) a RHD country.

Though, as Motoroids notes, rumor has it that the global model sixth-generation Ford Mustang will be launching India in the future, as well. No R&D Mustangs have been spotted there as of yet, but it might make sense if Chevrolet were to backtrack on their earlier suspending of a RHD Camaro, just to capture some more global market share.
