A Chevrolet Camaro Can Change Lives: Video

A Chevrolet Camaro can change lives.

Granted, first coming into car ownership at a young age is a life changer no matter what the make or model; some cars simply seem to have a more potent, intoxicating effect than others. This is something that Adam Martin and his 1968 Camaro “Lucy” know very well.

This video from YouTube user Petrolicious profiles Mr. Martin and his first car – a 1968 Chevy Camaro, originally shod in gray primer. He bought the Camaro at 16 years-old using his meager earnings working at a pizza place, and it launched an undying obsession with classic automotive restoration.

One of Adam’s first moves was to take a class that would give him the skills to build the Camaro’s current engine – a 454 CID Big-Block. A set of ceramic-coated Hooker exhaust headers followed, and then a DIY repaint, etc. But the project was never quite “finished” in any real sense, and all of this (mostly) self-taught restoration work only managed to entice Adam to learn and do more, inspiring him to enroll in a class car restoration program, and watch his passion flourish.

At the age of 16, we’re sure that this life path would have been unimaginable to Mr. Adam Martin. That just goes to show: cars, more than perhaps anything else, move people. Not just physically, but emotionally.

  1. Such a great video, I love that fact that he did the work himself. I guess you can say Lucy helped him find his passion. 🙂
