It seems like a few punks in the Land Down Under finally got around to watching Gone In 60 Seconds; between the hours of 5 pm on Saturday the 24th, and 10 am Sunday the 25th, some burglars stole both a 1999 Chevy Corvette and a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback from a body shop in Melbourne, Australia.
The Corvette which was taken from the shop can be seen above. Both of these cars were in the shop for minor body repairs. Corvette Blogger reports that authorities estimate the two cars’ value at a total $120,000. While that makes the thefts all the more dastardly, it also raises some hope that when found, the two cars will more likely be intact.
Corvette Blogger also reports that the very same day, burglars stole a Mercedes-Benz S350, Nissan 370Z, and Porsche 911 coupe from a home in Doncaster. Police don’t know if the two thefts are connected, but we’re going to wager a guess that all five incidents were the handiwork of an Australian Maindrian Pace, car thief extraordinaire.
