Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson has already shared his positive thoughts on the C7 Corvette Stingray, and now his peers at Top Gear Magazine have handed down the same respect to the 2015 Corvette Z06. The Z06 has won Muscle Car of the Year 2014 in the publication’s new Awards issue, in addition to the standard C7 Stingray be being named Clarkson’s personal Car of the Year for 2014.
When Top Gear drove the Z06, they claimed “go to the outer edge of your personal comfort zone, and the Z06 will meet you there. It’ll trade blows with the best that AMG, BMW, Ferrari or Porsche has to offer, on the trickiest tracks in the world. It’ll make you feel like a million dollars, but costs a fraction of that. America has a new hero,” which doesn’t sound like the typical muscle car description, but we’re sure Chevrolet is chuffed for the recognition, anyways.
Clarkson’s conclusion on the Corvette was a little less heartwarming, as expected, but the fact he picked it as his favorite new car of 2014 speaks volumes. His TV co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond picked the $1.9 million LaFerrari and $845,000 Porsche 918 Spyder.
“They’ve skimped on the trim to keep the costs down – Amstrad would have rejected the head-up display graphics for being too old-fashioned. In 1985. But they’ve gone the extra mile with the bits that matter. So we get a properly fast car that’s lovely to drive, for about half what we were expecting to pay,” he wrote.
The C7 Corvette has two more automotive media awards for its trophy case, and we have a feeling the Z06 will be the hot-topic of many awards discussions to come.

But the Corvette was never a muscle car. It was always a sports car; billed often as “Americas sports car”.
I suppose an award is an award, even from old whatshisface.
ITS NOT A MUSCLE CAR FOR THE MILLIONTH TIMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
It’s not a muscle car at all….
It’s a sports car… Camaro is a muscle
A V6 Camaro is a muscle car?
That’s news to me!
For Gods sake they are English. Just because they speak English dose not mean they speak American English.
This is the same people that call Sausages Bangers, French Fries chips and Cigarettes Fags. Give them a break as they picked a car much maligned over the years in Europe as one of the worlds best. Be a gracious winner and accept the accolades and leave the semantics out of it.
As Clarkson would say the car build by fat men in Kentucky has done America proud.
Muscle car is the Camaro’s job. I think they mean it’s they’re favorite car from the colonies.
it is too a muscle car. top gear knows what their talking about. if they didn’t than im sure they wouldn’t be known on tv and real life everywhere. people can have their opinions. theirs nothing wrong with opinions but mine is that it is a muscle car.
Come on Top Gear names Vette for Muscle car of the year and Vette C7 as Jeremy Clarkson Car of the year you should be proud of it and i`m not an american
