New Chevy Colorado Is A Cars.com ‘Best Pickup Of The Year’ Award Nominee

After snagging the MotorTrend Truck of the Year honors, the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado (and its sibling 2015 GMC Canyon) are up for the Cars.com Best Pickup of the Year Award. This award carries quite a bit of weight since the truck guys at Pickuptrucks.com are heavily involved in the process.

The 2015 Chevy Colorado is a strong candidate for the award after impressing editor Mark Williams during a first drive event in the fall. He said, “… the new Colorado is well executed and packed with plenty of smart technology and class-leading features.”

While the expectations have been high on the 2015 Ford F-150 claiming all the top awards, a win for the Chevrolet Colorado here would really be interesting. Can the mid-size truck once again top the best-selling full-size F-150? We will know in a few weeks at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, MI.

Tim is a married father of three living in Western Nebraska. He is the editor and contributor to several automotive sites. He spends a lot of time reading, writing and talking cars/trucks with fans, insiders and manufacture reps. When he isn't talking about cars, he is usually out playing golf - a never ending obsession to see how far the little white ball will fly.

  1. Nice to see these award are compounding to give proof there is more to this truck than many expected.

Also reassuring that all the media did not buy in to the Ford marketing hype on the F150.

    1. Slow down. It is just a nominee so far. Not an actual winner.

  2. Wonder if it will ever be sold in Europe

    1. Not sure but I would love to see a GMC version sold there. This way they could be marketed in the lines already in Europe and not require much of the divisions there as GMC can do most of the work and just let Opel and Vauxhall just let them know what changes they need.

I was just watching a show from Switzerland and I saw many Nissan pick up trucks there so why not GM?

  3. How the hell did the F150 win? I used to love the 150, but now it is plain ugly, I call bullshit on the testing and judging crew… I’m not saying the Colorado should win but, It looks better for a start.
