News for the Motor Trend Truck of the Year-winning 2015 Chevrolet Colorado continues to get better by the week. And even though the auto industry is off for the holidays, we still have a discovery to share with you.
On December 18, 2014, General Motors filed a trademark for the word “Nightfall,” described as an “option package for a motor vehicle comprising a black exterior, black grille, black 5-inch assist steps, 18-inch aluminum wheels, polished exhaust tips, spray-in bedliner, remote start and automatic climate control.”
The filing can be found on the US Patent and Trademark Office website. We’re not sure when/if the new appearance package will launch, but it could be for the Colorado’s 2016 model year.
What leads us to believe that the Nightfall package will fold into the Chevrolet Colorado lineup? 18-inch rims is perhaps the largest giveaway. The larger 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 offer larger wheels on their high-end models, and have already announced special black-out packages already, such as the Sierra Elevation.

Rather than talking they really need to be making them and shipping. Can barely find any here. They are all crew cab and mostly 4 cyl and black, silver and red. They are even slow with the 2015 Silverados. They are putting cheaper stuff out and I won’t even bother wasting my time. They need to get nicely equipped trucks out there. White has been found to be the most popular color so???

I received my AUTOWEEK magazine this week and was very proud to learn of the trucks award. I have ordered mine and will get it delivered sometime in early spring….I can wait as I have been since last September. I am getting the Z71 package with finally, a sliding rear window for my pooch to stick her nose out of! Ha!
I am very proud of Chevrolet. And I wish the company much success in 2015! Americans really can make good vehicles only if they listen to the customers, period. This is their way forward.
I still want a bench seat and a column shifter.
Then, and only then, will I order a Colorado.
Otherwise I’ll wait and save up for a Silverado.
I waiting to buy one, but my dealer can not seem to get enough. They are sold before you can sit and drive one.
