General Motors U.S. dealers delivered 225,818 vehicles in November 2014, an increase of 6 percent compared to November 2013. The results represent GM’s best November sales in seven years.
“The buzz around Black Friday helped drive strong showroom traffic but there was a lot more at work in the market,” said Kurt McNeil, U.S. vice president of Sales Operations. “More people have jobs and job security, their wages are starting to increase, household wealth is growing and low pump prices look like they’re here to stay through 2015. All of this helped deliver an exceptional month and it will help keep auto sales at very healthy levels going forward.”
During the month, sales were robust in nearly all vehicle segments, from smaller cars and crossovers to big trucks.

Comments
This confirms the global trend of SUV cars are becoming the new fashion sales still above medium sedans
And they are also good sales small and compact cars
Cadillac must be mounted less powerful engines in its ATS / CTS base models; if they want to sell more cars
Regards from Spain
Yes, crossovers/CUVs are popular. Absolutely.
As for Cadillac, it’s in a state of transition: it’s charging the same amount of money for the ATS and CTS as the competition, but brand perception is lagging product. So it will take a bit before consumers start switching to it in droves, although I am convinced that it will happen.
I don’t think Cadillac needs less powerful engines. Their powerplant range is right there with BMW, Benz, and Audi (in the U.S.). If anything, Cadillac needs better transmissions (globally) as well as diesel engines and wagons (for Europe).
But what Cadillac needs more than any of that is more crossovers. It needs to dump the lackluster SRX and offer crossover versions of the ATS, CTS, and CT6… and then a version of a crossover of the upcoming FWD-based sub-ATS sedan. That’s the only way to continue build an undiluted image as a globally-respected and desired luxury automaker.
Sales of Cadillac is nothing to worry about since ATP is higher than last year. There will be a slew of products coming in several years which will give Cadillac an alternative as a product of choice to the competition.
I’m glad that the CTS is doing pretty good right now especially the Escalade with a combined, 3,234 excluding EXT.
ATS sales can be offset by CTS sales. The ATP is higher anyway, and the slight dip in CTS sales is nothing alarming. The ATS, and it’s eventual CT replacement, can only rise in sales as the public finally comes to grips with the idea that Cadillac can make a competent and well-built compact sedan that isn’t named Cimmarron. Thanks, flexible platform sharing. 🙂
By the way, good job, Escalade. At $73K+ a pop, it shows that Cadillac CAN build a product that can command that kind of money. Only thing to do now is move the needle upwards.
Looks like those black Friday commercials buick was running constantly really did their job.
