Four 2015 Model Year Chevrolet Vehicles Named IIHS Top Safety Picks

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has named four different Chevrolet vehicles as Top Safety for Picks for 2015.

The 2015 Chevrolet Spark, Volt, Malibu and Equinox all achieved a good or acceptable rating in the institute’s small front overlap test and a good rating in the moderate front overlap and side, roof strength and head restraints tests.

“Receiving this recognition from IIHS for the 2015 Spark, Volt, Malibu and Equinox is great news for Chevrolet and even greater news for our customers,” Steven Majoros, director of Chevrolet Cars and Crossover Marketing, said in a statement.

This year, 71 different new vehicles received the Top Safety Pick designation from the Federal Government. The Chevrolet Spark was previously the only minicar in the segment to be named a Top Safety Pick, but is this year joined by the Honda Fit. The Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain also received the best possible ‘Good’ rating, only being joined by the Nissan Pathfinder.
