Chevrolet Impala “Midnight Edition” Showroom-Bound?

Regular visitors of this site may recall a Chevrolet Impala “Blackout” concept we called your attention to, which appeared at the SEMA trade show earlier this year. According to the folks over at Edmunds, that Impala (or some comparable variation) may make its way into production, as the Chevrolet Impala “Midnight Edition.”
The Impala Midnight Edition will feature the same black grille and bowtie emblem, and tinted headlights as the SEMA concept. The car will also feature a new, unique steering wheel. Edmunds spoke to Chevrolet Marketing Director Steve Majoros, who called the blacked-out car “gorgeous.”
“Blacked-out is a huge trend,” said Majoros. “You see so many smoked gray wheels, black wheels.” A lot of the parts featured on the Blackout concept – and likely to appear on the Midnight Edition – are already available for purchase as accessories from Chevrolet.
Inside, the car will likely recall the concept with all-black leather trim and sport pedals, possibly with custom trim plates featuring a mesh wire pattern. Majoros said that the Chevrolet Impala Midnight Edition may be available as soon as late Spring, 2015.
Now Chevy, as for the possibility of giving a similar treatment to the SS…
Looks great!
The majority of these cars that I’ve seen have had seniors driving them. I hope this lowers the age demographic.
Not sure where you live, but most people I see driving the new Impala are mid-30s to mid-50s. guess i’m not sure if that’s a senior to you!
I know its a bit odd, since the car has very modern styling and gadgets you’d expect it to draw more tech savvy younger owners. I’m 26 and was seriously considering one last spring. The local dealers where I live (NB Canada) don’t seem to want to sell these (only keep 2-3 in stock and have rarely been any rebates or good financing terms). So the only people who seem to buy them at full price are those 50+.
I hope so. This look really compliments the new Impala’s styling IMO.
You have the color and the look to become an SS if GM would put in the drivetrain from the Cadillac XTS. It would be a awesome ride. The car is very handsome looking.
Wish they would offer the equipment in other colors and yes add the twin turbo V6.
Beautiful car, but i rather it have the Cadillac CTSV drivetrain under it !
They really need to remove the XTS and move the TT V6 and AWD to this model if you really want to make a statement.
The only issue is what would it cost and how many would they sell at that price as a Impala? If they can do it that would be great!
Sorry I had to present both sides but they both need to be considered.
The Impala Is A Great Car I Have A LTZ Loaded And It Run’s Great.
I think they should redisgn the Impala for 2018….they should make the next Impala lower and longer than the current one…put a 400 HP twinturbo V6 in the Impala…maybe the it should become a peremium car instead of an entry-level…base price at $35.000.
