World’s Fastest Hearse Now Pushing 1,300 HP: Video

Most of the time when you see a hearse, the last thing you think about is a quarter mile killer. What if we told you this hearse is pushing 1,300-horsepower? Here are some details on this Chevrolet Caprice hearse that screams like a bat out of hell as you indulge in some post Halloween candy.
The idea was dreamt up when AMS Performance’s Vice President noticed the Guinness World Record for the fastest hearse was only a measly 13.72-seconds, something he thought was very much beatable. The car is an original 1996 Chevrolet Caprice Superior Coach Hearse, and as can be seen the video below, packs quite the punch.
In the video, the Caprice is running a Chevrolet LQ4 6.0-liter V8 and minor tweaks to the motor. But, this casket mover is also running a turbo at a whopping 23 psi, bringing out the grand total of ponies to around 1,000-horsepower. How capable is it? Well, it can clock in at 60-mph in 2.3-seconds. Yep. And the interior keeps its stock air conditioning, stereo, and all original equipment to carry a casket in the rear.
Since the video, AMS has dropped in an upgraded 6.0-liter, a new rear differential, and stronger transmission to handle the gobs of power. This is where it is reported the hearse has hit 1,300-horsepower. No where to go but up we suppose. Make sure you check out the video below to see a clip of the 1,000-horsepower hearse in action.
