The First Sellable 2015 C7 Corvette Z06 Rolls Off The Line

Remember when Rick Hendrick bought the rights to the first Corvette Z06 at Barrett-Jackson for a cool million? Well, that car has finally been built, and GM Authority is here to bring you a first-hand account of this very special vehicle.

Truth be told, we caught wind of it at StingrayForums.com, who say that this Z06 was completed two days ago at 9:26 am. The production rate is said to be “just under seven Z06s per hour.” Apparently splitters and skirts are installed at the dealership. StingrayForums.com also mentions that every Z06 spoiler is Carbon Flash Metallic regardless of whether it is a Stage 1, Stage 2, or Z07, and regardless whether a buyer specifies CFV (the visible carbon fiber ground effects package) or CFZ (the carbon-flash option).

According to an enthusiast who was at the Corvette plant’s tour, “four workers appeared and started to take off the white protective covering” that revealed black paint underneath” − this was Rick Henrick’s Z06 #1, which had received the special protective coating. Sorry, no pics, but we should start seeing the Z06 on the streets shortly.
