Meet the Chevrolet Silverado High Desert concept that just rolled into the 2014 SEMA show, complete with unique colors, larger tires, a performance exhaust system and upgraded brakes. In other words, it is ready for some off-road fun!
The EcoTec3 6.2L V8-powered High Desert concept is based on a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado High Country crew cab pickup with a conceptual flexible and lockable concept storage system in the bed. So, what does it include?
As you may already know, the Silverado High Country is distinguished by a unique chrome grille with horizontal chrome bars, halogen projector headlamps and body-colored front and rear bumpers. On the inside, premium materials like the exclusive saddle brown leather with heated, cooled, and perforated seats are unique to the trim level. It also has High Country logos on the headrests, Chevrolet MyLink infotainment with an eight-inch touch screen, Bose premium audio, as well as front and rear park assist.
The Silverado High Desert starts with the High Country and adds Oxide Gold and Russet accents to the Deepwood Green exterior color along with dark-tinted wood accents throughout  the interior. On the outside, the High Desert switches out the chrome door handles and mirror caps for color-matched units, while adding a new custom grille. Lastly, the High Desert mounts a stylized sport bar in the bed with an integrated, high-mounted stop lamp and LED cargo bed lighting.
For performance, Chevy added a performance exhaust system and Brembo six-piston front brake calipers, performance brake pads and 16-inch slotted rotors. The truck rides on 22-inch aluminum wheels that were pulled from GM’s accessory lineup, and designers accented the wheels with Oxide Gold and Russet accents to complement the exterior colors.
